The Daily Tar Heel

The Daily Tar Heel has been an integral force in the N.C. Scholastic Media Association‘s history. In 1936, the publication’s editors sponsored the first ever summer Institute out of Graham Memorial Hall on UNC-Chapel Hill’s campus. Today, although no longer the home of the state press association, the DTH editors house several summer Institute students as they put together The Rush newspaper, which covers the Institute news and is compiled in three-days.

The Daily Tar Heel is the independent student-run newspaper at UNC-Chapel Hill and now has offices at 151 E. Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill, a block from downtown Franklin Street.
